Good Times

We're going to be travelling and catching up with family so I will take this opportunity to thank you for reading Home Thoughts Weekly.  Like any other year, 2014 has brought its share of ups and downs but I'm going into the New Year thinking of all the happy times.  

All best wishes to you and yours for Christmas and the New Year.

Nollaig shona dhuit Chris, and to Tom . Looking forward to more Home Thoughts in 2015.
It has been a marathon year all round I think. I won't forget 2014 in a hurry. Overall its been a good year, probably down to not getting to Galway on schedule ;-) maybe next year!

Chris, I do like the way that you've described this year that is vanishing so quickly, leaving on its sands all sorts of memories.

I count amongst my happy 2014 days all the opportunities it has given me to read your excellent writing either right here, or in your novels.

How fortunate I am to have had the additional pleasure of meeting you and Tom in person. How much I hope that the new year 2015...just around the time corner (must remember to ask Tom if there is such a thing as a time corner) I will get to see you all again.

Well, Ma Mère, There have been so many times when I’ve gathered up all the little shiny moments I’ve collected during the day, ready to present to you in our evening phone call and then I remember all over again that you’re not there. But, Mum, so much has happened since you’ve gone - maybe you know, maybe you don’t - that I’ve decided to write to you instead.  A few days after you died, we sold our house! After all those months! Forever Young

Looking at the blurb for my new Lacura WrinkleStop from Aldi, I see that its active ingredient has been ‘proven to help • Reduce forehead wrinkles by 52% • Reduce crow’s feet by 24% • Restrict 82% of wrinkle muscle activity’ That’s quite a claim, isn’t it? Frankly, after years when my face looked like a lunar landscape thanks to the joys of acne, these days I’m just grateful to see a fairly blemish-free skin. Part of me wants to believe that the wonder cream’s making everything looking a bit smoother and tidier, but, hey, there’s also a lot of ‘aqua’ and ‘glycerin’ in the stuff, too. Besides, I could tamper with my skin as much as I like (and I don’t), but I’ve only got to stand next to my beautiful daughters to see the difference.
